The Bargains & Blessings of Thrift Store Ministry
Thrift stores are experiencing a revival and renewed sense of opportunity in these challenging economic times, as more people are in search of bargains or unique treasures.
Attend this workshop to understand how the thrift stores at St. Mark’s, Islip, Christ Church, Brentwood and St. John’s, Oakdale have used their thrift store ministry to help transition vulnerable neighbors, to raise funds to help sustain their parish or to generate revenue needed for other outreach ministries.
During the first half of the workshop, we will focus on all aspects of this ministry including;
Best practices in merchandizing and retail operations
Everyone has something to offer about how they “do business” and so the second half of this workshop will be a roundtable discussion that will give attendees the opportunity to delve more deeply into specific areas of interest. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect on the various ways this ministry can change lives and transform all those involved, not just the people shopping.
We hope will join us and explore the many ways this ministry can be used to positively impact your church and the wider community.
A light lunch will be served.
