The Indianapolis Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), as part of the annual trade show, is hosting an education seminar. There will be (2) 1-hour sessions, offering (2) AIA CEU's.The seminar will be located in Room 201 at the JW Marriott. The room is located next to the trade show exhibit space.

Course Description:
This program will demonstrate how recent steel industry innovations allow engineers and architects to easily express their design concepts and overcome client serviceability concerns. As a partner in the procurement and delivery process, steel can provide strategic ideas for cost-effective and time-saving project performance.
Learning Objectives:
1.Understand and incorporate low floor-to-floor height systems and long span solutions for economies of construction
2.Appreciate the current supply chain and market conditions impacting the construction industry
3.Apply Building Information Modeling (BIM) and improved shop drawing review methods for use on their next project
4.Incorporate innovative connection methods and modular systems in future challenges
5.Have an understanding of how best to apply the requirements of AESS and current Sustainability concerns
ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Matthew Brady, P.E., LEED Green Assoc., Upper Midwest Regional Engineer
Matthew works with project decision makers to connect members of the design team with the resources of the steel production and fabrication community to help assess the viability of a structural steel option on upcoming projects. He is also an educational resource to the design community on technical and economic aspects of building with structural steel.
Prior to becoming a regional engineer, Matthew worked as an advisor in AISC's Steel Solutions Center for three years. He developed conceptual solutions for many steel structures including parking garages, multi-story residential, office, industrial, educational, and healthcare buildings.
Before joining AISC, Matthew worked in a variety of roles including construction, forensics, and design both as a consulting engineer and an internal designer for A/E firms. He has worked on design of bridges, buildings and non-building structures involving steel design, detailing, fabrication, and erection. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The trade show will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015. The schedule of the day will be: Education Seminar from 1-3pm and the Trade Show will be form 3-7pm.

The registration fee is $35 for both seminars.
