Wanda B. Knight, Professor of Art Education, PhD.
Wanda B. Knight, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Art Education and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park. Besides university level teaching, shehas taught all grade levels (PreK-12), in vastly different locations—counting rural, urban, suburban, and United States Department of 
Defense Schools—in United States and overseas. She has also served as principal of elementary and secondary public schools, and as registrar and curator of an art museum. Knight teaches, presents, andleads workshops and seminars that foster diversity and support fair, ethical,and inclusive teaching and learning environments. She has served as an expert diversity consultant to educational organizations, businesses, and a Fortune 500 Company, bringing to others her extensive travel and academia experiences that cross borders of technologies, disciplines, and institutions. Dr. Knight serves on the National Art Education Council for Policy Studies, is past president of the United States Society for Education through Art (USSEA) and is past chair of the National Art Education Association Committee on Multiethnic Concerns (COMC). She has served as editor of the Journal of Social Theory in Art Educationand of Visual Arts Research, and has been published widely on topics concerning culturally competent teaching, diversity and inclusion, social justice, and educational equity. Knight’s presentations span national and international, incorporating keynote presentations sponsored by universities, cultural institutions, and national and international associations. Moreover, she has received research funding from local, state, and international organizations, including Pennsylvania State University, Ohio State University, The Pennsylvania Department of Education, The Getty Foundation, The Annenberg Foundation, and Phi Delta Kappa International, among others. Her honors include the Pennsylvania Art Education Association Outstanding Higher Education Art Educator Award, the NAEA J. Eugene Grigsby Jr. Award for outstanding contributions to the field of art education and the Kenneth Marantz Distinguished Alumni Award from The Ohio State University, where she earned her Ph.D.
Ed Johnetta Miller, Fiber Artist, Author, Teacher
Ed Johnetta Miller is an author, fiber artist, teacher, independent currator, Artistic Director for OPUS, Inc.Arts Management Envoy from the U.S. to Cote D’Ivoire, Ivory Coast, former Design Consultant for Aid to Artisans Ghana, and a Culture Arts Ambassador for The Women of Color Quilters Network,West Chester Ohio. A Connecticut Master Teaching Artist, Miller has served as a Visiting Artist at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, Art and Healing Program. Widely exhibited in the U.S. and internationally, Ed Johnetta’s quilts can be found in numerous museums, corporate and private collections including The Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian, The Contemporary Quilt Museum, Golden Colorado, The Wadsworth Museum of Art, Safeco Corporation, Johnson and Johnson Corporation, Hartford Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, The U.S. Embassyin Benin, West Africa, U.S. Embassy Chad, Central Africa, and Michigan State University. Miller’s work has been featured in many books and television productions, including The Sunday New York Times, HGTV, and Debbie Allen’s “Cool Women.” An author of a children’sbook, “The Short North, Ed Johnetta also designed an ornament for the White House Christmas Tree in 2009. Miller has been the recipient of many awards for her work as artist, teacher, community activist and The (CT) Governor’s Art Award. She was an Honoree in the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame. She has conducted workshops internationally, and represented the U.S. at the largest quilt festival in the world in Yokohama, Japan and in Cape Town, South Africa for the Bishop Tutu foundation.
