2019 FLI Science Fair

The FLI Science Fair is modeled after a professional research conference, allowing middle school and high school students to present their original research projects on environmental topics related to the Finger Lakes region in a half-day poster session. The 2019 FLI Science Fair is Monday, May 14th, 9am - 1pm at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Students are invited to submit their research posters individually or as a group. Deadline to submit posters is Tuesday, May 7th by 3pm. Posters will be printed on campus at no charge to participants. A research poster template is available to download from the FLI Science Fair webpage Posters must be submitted electronically to science fair coordinator, Nadia Harvieux, at Harvieux@hws.edu by 3pm on Tuesday, May 7th.

At the FLI Science Fair, posters and presentations of student projects will be judged in two categories, a middle school division and high school division, by professionals in the enviornmental field. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the first and second place posters in each division, sponsored by the Genesee Chapter of the New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA). A template of the judging score card can be viewed on the FLI Science Fair webpage.

The FLI Science Fair is a great opportunity for students to participate in the scientific research process, present their work and engage with enviornmental professionals! To learn more about past FLI Science Fair events, please visit our FLI Science Fair webpage
