2014 JAD Fall Convention:

District Quartet Contest and International Preliminary Chorus Contest and Senior Quartet Contest.

About the JAD Fall Convention and Contest:

At the JAD Fall Convention the District HOD meeting will be held on Friday afternoon.  Tag singing, gang singing, meeting new and old friends, the opportunity to sing with the famed JAD Mic Tester Chorus, attend hospitality rooms, and more is all part of what awaits you at this year’s Fall Convention.

Chorus Contest:   The JAD Chorus Champions win the right to represent the district at next year’s international contest and convention. However, this contest is open to ALL JAD Chapter Choruses, of all levels of performance ability and size. So bring your chorus and entertain before the best barbershop audience in the world. It’s great fun!

Quartet Contest:  The district Quartet Champs earn the title, the admiration of everyone in the district, and bragging rights for a year. But the district quartet championship has nothing to do with determining the quartets that represent the district at next year’s international contest. That’s accomplished at another JAD contest, the “Spring Prelims.”

Senior Quartet Contest:  The highest-scoring Senior Quartet at the Fall District Contest will represent JAD at the International Midwinter Convention.


Note to Competitors: 

Quartet registration is a two step process:
 
1) Enter the contest. Go to this link - http://barbershop.org/competitions/contest-entry-process.html - and follow the instructions to fill out a CJ-20 form. This step must be completed by 9/19/14
 
2) Pay your registration fee after entering the contest. You can either do it on-line with the button below (you can pay for multiple people in your group at one time), or send a check (made payable to 'Johnny Appleseed District') to:

Please put the name of the group on the check.
 
Payment by either method must be completed by 10/3/14

Chorus registration is a three step  process:
 
1) Same as #1 above (choose "chorus" at the beginning of the CJ-20 registration process). Deadline of 9/19
  
2) Same payment options as #2 above (you can add up to 100 people on one on-line payment). Deadline of 10/3
 
3) When #1 is complete you will get an emailed link to a spread sheet where you list all of the men who will be singing on-stage with you. This spread sheet helps us make name badges and cross reference which group is paying for an individual, and how much each group needs to pay.

 

Competitors must pre-pay, you can not pay at the door.
