Creating Communities Where Teens & FamiliesTalk About Mental Health

50% of mental health issues can be identified by age 14. Creating school and home environments where teens and families feel comfortable talking about their mental health can help prevent crises and build overall health and well-being.

Join Integral Care, NAMI Austin and the Austin Independent School District to hear from a parent and young adult sharing their personal experience with mental illness as well as a mental health clinician and community mental health advocate talking about treatment and resources.

Tuesday, May 9th

4:45pm – 6:45pm

John H. Reagan High – Cafeteria

7104 Berkman Drive, Austin, TX 78752

Resource Fair & Dinner starts at 4:45pm

Forum begins at 5:15pm

During the panel, our speakers will share information, ideas and tools to help support teens and families. We’ll talk about:

  • Early Identification: What’s normal and what needs intervention
  • Communication: How to avoid shaming and stigmatizing mental illness
  • Early Intervention: The importance of connecting to resources as soon as possible

We hope to see you there!
