Suicide Awareness Month: Helping the Community Cope With and Deter Suicide

Suicide is the number two killer of people between the ages of 10 to 34.  The number of suicides again spikes among our elders in men over the age of 85. Suicide is a preventable death that can be actively deterred by everyday people, but we have to be willing to discuss it and be trained to look for the possible signs.  Join us for an expert panel discussion and networking opportunity with local organizations and community representatives!

Panelists:

  • Caroline Brackett – PhD, LPC, ACS, NCC, Associate Professor of Counseling at Mercer University
  • Tamu Lewis – Co-Founder, Lee Thompson Young Foundation
  • And more!

The North Fulton Mental Health Collaborative is normalizing the conversation surrounding mental health through engaging community leaders and families in an on-going dialogue to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention in our faith communities, schools, businesses, and community at large. Learn more about us at summitcounseling.org/collaborative!
