DSM-5 Workshop: What You Need to Know
MPS is offering this 2-hour workshop for psychiatrists, physicians, and mental health professionals who need to become familiar with DSM 5. Participants wanting to hear more about the changes from DSM IV, and the scientific reasons for those change should attend. Following the workshop, attendees will be ready to begin using DSM 5 in clinical practice

Check-in begins at 3:30 pm and the workshop runs from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

Educational Objectives
At the end of the educational activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Understand the history, development and use of the DSM 5
  • Identify and apply the changes in DSM-5 from DSM-IV-TR and explain their rationale.
  • Use the new criteria in clinical settings, in research, and for administrative purposes.

Who Should Attend
This educational activity is intended for psychiatrists, primary care physicians, psychologists, social workers, physician assistants, registered nurses, and advance practice nurses. All mental health professionals and health professionals are welcome, including students and residents.

Accreditation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the Minnesota Psychiatric Society. The APA is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation
The APA designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
