Speaker Topic: Big Data & Analytics
April 19, 2018
Program Description
The fast moving change environment we live in has presented many challenges to our population - from how we manage job and industry losses to how we educate our work force to survive in the changed environment and how we plan our business strategy to succeed in the new world we have created. This series will address four areas of technology emerging in Silicon Valley and related Silicon geographiesover a six month period: Big Data & Analytics, Cloud Computing, Virtual & Augmented Reality and Robotics.
Each of these events will be addressing quality challenges in these technology areas and will consist of a Keynote speaker, an expert panel, and a social get together.
Session Four: Thursday, April 19th, 2018, 5 - 8 pm on Big Data & Analytics
Keynote Speaker Axel Kloth, President & CEO at Scalable Systems Research Labs Inc.
Keynote Speaker: Axel Kloth
Axel is a Founder, CEO, CTO & VP of Engineering, Scalable Systems Research Labs and a proven force in the parallel processing, multiprocessor systems, interconnects and switches entrepreneurial space. Scalable Systems develops and sells a family of massively parallel coprocessors with standard API's to solve the "Big Data" and numerically intensive problems. These coprocessors work with standard a variety of standards-based application programming interfaces (APIs).
The combination of coprocessors and standards-based applications programming interfaces enable linear scaling. This includes applications in data analysis including social data, financial modeling, crash test simulations, weather forecast, business process optimization and mapping of the human brain.
Axel has authored or co-authored over 20 patents and 5 books and is an invited repeat speaker to the Asilomar Microcomputer Workshop, the Flash Memory Summit and m ultiple IEEE conferences.
Panel members: Dan Esbensen, a co-Founder of Touch Technologies and co-Founder of the California Health Medical Reserve Corps and LearOnMobile, and Da-Qi Ren of Futurewei Technolgies (high performance computing for big data applications) and ITU Staff. The panel Moderator is Indra Desai.
