Mr. Stephen Goveia, MBA, CPA, GPHR

Speaker Biography:

 

Steve is a global leader with private equity and venture capital experience; twice been member of teams who developed business plans from concept to billion dollar enterprises. He is an expert at pre-acquisition due diligence and managing infrastructure transformation after mergers and acquisitions. He was an early stage advisor to Cisco, McAfee, Polycom, LeapFrog and SEGA. Currently, Mr. Goveia is the global head of strategy for NCORD Healthcare LLC., an early stage medical records company and interim COO for iNORBIS technology a mobile application. 

He has over 30 years of experience in the international business world as an entrepreneur and consultant to businesses in education management, healthcare, and software, and as Chief Executive Officer of Sybersay Communications, an early Bluetooth device and software company. He was awarded the first Entrepreneur Extraordinaire Award by the Bryan School of Business University of North Carolina for his teaching and mentorship to entrepreneurs. His work has been recognized by Money Magazine, and he has lectured on leadership and entrepreneurship at the ILA and Academy of Management.  

He enjoys teaching and speaking on entrepreneurship and is an author of his own curriculum on entrepreneurship, The 86400 Program. His research interests include the study of the conative faculty of the mind – as a predictor of entrepreneurship skills. Steve is the Entrepreneur in Residence at Dominican University, and lecturers on accounting ethics at the graduate level with St. Mary’s College of California.    

Steve earned an MBA from the University of South Carolina, is a licensed CPA, and was certified as a GPHR and former Army Captain. He has served on several technology boards and currently on the Board of CreaTV.

Douglas has many years of experience as a consultant, manager, and engineer in the computer and software industries . In addition to teaching, he provides organizational assessments, strategic quality planning, and test planning services. His recent technical work has focused on equivalence class analysis, test oracles, and advanced test automation architectures. He is a regular speaker at conferences worldwide, holds credentials for teaching Computer Science at the college level, and has taught management, technical, and quality assurance related university classes for several Universities on both coasts. He has been very active in the Section's activities; teaching classes, leading the Software TAG (SSQA), and he holds the distinction of being ASQ's SV Section Chair twice. He is also a founder, Lead instructor, and Past President of the Association for Software Testing (AST), an international professional society.
