American Society of Quality Dinner Forum

Speaker Topic: "Rapid Ramp: Transitioning From Prototype to Scale"

The successful transition of a product from Prototype into Volume is critical for hardware businesses as they scale.  Navigating this New Product Introduction (NPI) process successfully can catapult a start-up into a market leader, or, enable a large company, such as Apple, to smoothly fill market demand without supply or quality gaps.  On the flip side, a poorly executed NPI process can cause extended launch delays or product quality problems that result in the death of a startup company, or seriously erode an established companies reputation.

In this session, Mike will share a real world example that highlights:

  • Agile Hardware Development
  • Design for Excellence
  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Test
  • Materials
  • Packaging
  • Service
  • Poke-a-Yoke
  • Cost Escalation and Containment
  • Product and Lifecycle Costs
  • CM Selection
  • Impact of a Strong NPI Process
