  Reflective Supervision/Consultation Training Series:       

FREE - 4 sessions offered virtually with a 5th

follow-up day in December!

,                    We are excited that you will be joining us for the                                                  4-day Reflective Supervision/Consultation Training Series!                   

CT-AIMH is offering a series of FOUR  half-day sessions on Zoom, and a fifth follow-up day.  We strongly urge you to atend all of the workshops in the series in order to benefit from the opportunity to expereince relationship building, expanding your reflective capacity and professional growth.

There is no fee for these training sessions; however we do require that all attendees hold a current supervisory position (or offering RS/C to others),and are Endorsed in IMH or in process.

A certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion of the series.

The funding for this event is sponsored by the OEC and the training is provided by CT-AMH.

The dates, times and topics: 

October 20, 2022, 9:30-12:30pm- Introduction to Reflective Supervision: Best Practices, and Introduction to the Reflective Interaction Observation Scale (RIOS) as a Framework for Practice   Build a strong foundation with Best Practices in Reflective Supervision, in addition to learning about the structure and components of the RIOS, participants will view and discuss video clips from reflective supervision sessions that demonstrate the Five Essential Elements and five Collaborative Tasks of reflective supervision as identified by the RIOS.   

October 27, 2022, 09:30am-12:30pm -Essential Elements of a Reflective Supervisor Understand the knowledge needed for RS: Relationship-based work, knowledge of infant and early childhood development, shared expectations. What is a supervisor's role? Explore the attributes needed as a reflective supervisor.

November 3, 2022, 09:30am-12:30pm -Putting it into Practice- Essential Skills of a Reflective Supervisor: Empathy, cultural responsiveness, attention, attunement, patience, comfort with not knowing, tolerating conflict, listening with curiosity, avoiding a rush to judgement, reflection, communication, wondering, holding in mind, etc. Identify ways to enrich your practice by observing and discussing a live RS  Fishbowl experience.                                                                                                                               

November 10, 2022, 09:30am-12:30pm -  1:1 Reflective Supervision/Consultation (RS/C), Group RS/C and Virtual RS/C.  Identify ways to enrich your practice by observing and discussing a live RS Fishbowl experience.

We have also scheduled a follow-up day on December 15, 2022, 09:30am-12:30pm.

 

 Possible presenters for this series will be:

Heather Bonitz Moore, MS, AT-BC, LPC, IMH-E®                                                                 Heather has facilitated Reflective Supervision Groups  and training for CT-AIMH, and is the current Endorsement Coordinator for CT-AIMH. Heather Bonitz Moore is a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and an Endorsed Clinical Infant Mental Health Mentor. 

Carlita Elias, PsyD, IMH-E®                                                                                                    Dr. Carlita Elias, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Manchester CT. She also serves as Vice President of the CT-AIMH Board of Directors.  She has previously worked as a clinician for Child First, a Head Start Mental Health Consultant, and program manager for a trauma informed therapeutic childcare program. She is a registered facilitator for Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) and COSP-Classroom and is a certified FLIP IT trainer. She is also a registered provider of Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). She provides training and workshops on topics related to infant and early childhood mental health, addressing challenging behaviors in early childhood and incorporates and anti-racism and equity perspective in all aspects of her work. She holds a national endorsement an Infant Mental Health Specialist and is a Reflective Supervisor/Consultant.

 

Kim Shepardson Watson, LCSW, IMH-E®                                                                                   Kim has facilitated Reflective Supervision/Consultation Groups and training for CT-AIMH.  Kim is a clinician in private practice. Kim is a Licensed clinical social worker and an Endorsed Clinical Infant Mental Health Mentor.

   

Tanika  Eaves Simpson, LCSW, PhD, IMH-E®                                                                            Tanika has served as former vice-president of the CT-AIMH Board, and is now a current member. She was the former CT-AIMH Endorsement Coordinator and offered training on Reflective Supervision for CT-AIMH. Tanika was a clinician with Minding the Baby, an evidence-based program serving young parents and their children at the Yale Child Study Center, and is now faculty at Fairfield University. Tanika is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an Endorsed Infant Mental Health Specialist.

Anne Giordano, MA, IMH-E®                                                                                                        Anne has facilitated Reflective Supervision/Consultation Groups  and training for CT-AIMH. She has also served as former CT-AIMH Endorsement Coordinator. She has also facilitated programs serving the needs of children experiencing homelessness, and has prior experience overseeing the Birth to 3 and EHS programs at EDCATION CONNECTION.  Anne is an Endorsed Clinical Infant Mental Health Mentor

 

  Rebecca Parilla, PhD, IMH-E®                                                                              Rebecca has facilitated Reflective Supervision/Consultation Groups  and training for CT-AIMH.  She is the National Clinical Director at Child First/NFP. Rebecca is an Endorsed Clinical Infant Mental Health Mentor.                                                                                         

 Denise L. Webb, RN, APRN, PNP-BC, IMH-E®                                                                           Denise has worked as a nurse at Minding the Baby, an evidence-based program serving young parents and their children at the Yale Child Study Center.  She is Endorsed as a Clinical Infant Mental Health Mentor. Denise has presented at Reflective Supervision/Consultation trainings for CT-AIMH.

 

Margaret O'Connell, MSEd, LCSW, IMH-E®                                                                                   Margaret began her journey as a NYC Teacher. She has over twenty years of experience working with children with Special Needs, their families, and Caregivers. She has worked in public and private school settings, Head Start, Trauma Informed Childcare and Home Visiting with Birth to Three. Currently she works in a Private Practice serving with Families and children. She leads a Reflective Supervision Consultation group and supports CTAIMH Trainings for DCF Clinicians and Childcare Providers.
