CT-AIMH~10-evening Infant and Toddler Mental Health Training Series for Early Care and Education Providers and Family Child Care Providers
We are excited that you will be joining us for the10-session Infant/Toddler Mental Health Training Series for Childcare Providers! This series is designed specifically for all childcare providers (including Head Start) who are currently working with infants and toddlers.
Each training session will be two hours long. Except for the first session that will be 5:30-8pm. Each person is strongly encouraged to attend all 10 evenings, in order to get the full benefit of the series and to experience relationship building.
The workshops will be held virtually on the following Thursdays: September 8 (5:30pm- 8:00pm), September 15, 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10 (from 6pm-8pm).
These workshops are funded by: OEC- Preschool Development Grant, Birth Through Five.
*Note-This series of ten workshops is based on materials developed by the Texas Association for Infant Mental Health, designed for Child Care providers to meet the Competencies in Infant Mental Health.
Topics will include: An orientation meeting, Intro to Infant Mental Health, Attachment, Brain Development, Infant/Toddler Development, Behavior, Temperament, Sensory Integration, The Importance of Play, Partnering with Families and Reflective Practice.
Presenter:
Anne Giordano, MA, IMH-E®
Anne specializes in working with infants, toddlers and families; and for more than twenty-five years
has worked at EdAdvance (formerly Education Connection) the regional educational service center in
western CT. Anne has served as manager of Part C Birth-3 and Early Head Start programs, before
moving into the role of Early Childhood Specialist. She has also coordinated numerous state and federal
grants addressing the needs of young children experiencing homelessness. Additionally, for seven
years Anne served in the capacity of coordinator of the Region 5, MDE-Foster Care Clinic through
Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
Anne’s role as Training Coordinator with CT Association for Infant Mental Health includes developing,
coordinating and presenting statewide training in infant mental health for child welfare staff, early care
and community providers and home visitors; and facilitating group Reflective Supervision. Anne is
endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Clinical Mentor through the CT Association for Infant Mental Health;
and presents frequently at local, state, and national conferences on issues related to infant toddler
mental health and development.
