CT-AIMH~7-day Infant and Toddler Mental Health Training Series for Early Care and Education Providers
We are excited that you will be joining us for the 7-session Infant/Toddler Mental Health Training Series for Childcare Providers! This series is designed specifically for childcare providers (including early Head Start) who are working with infants and toddlers.
All days will be from 11:30-4:00pm. Each person is strongly encouraged to attend all 7 days, in order to get the full benefit of the series and to expereince relationship-building. Please, do not divide up one slot (7 sessions) between different people. There are applications for stipends available on a limited basis, to help defray the cost of staff coverage. Availability of funds will be based upon the total number of stipend applications received.
The workshops will be held on the following days: October 22, 29, November 6, 13, 27, December 4, 2019 and a 7th day TBD in Waterbury. A light lunch will be provided.
These workshops are available due to a grant through the Office of Early Childhood.
The workshops will be led by Anne Giordano, MA, IMH-E®, Consultant and Trainer at EdAdvance.
Anne facilitates programs serving the needs of children experiencing homelessness., and has prior experience overseeing the Birth to 3 and EHS programs at EdAdvance (formerly EDCATION CONNECTION). Anne presents regularly on issues related to young children at risk, most recently at the National Head Start Research Conference on Homelessness and Young Children. She has conducted assessments for DCF and hosted infant mental health collaborative forums throughout Connecticut for CT-AIMH, promoting the Competencies in Infant Mental Health.
*Note-This series of seven (7) workshops is based on materials developed by the Texas Association for Infant Mental Health, designed for Child Care providers to meet the Competencies in Infant Mental Health.
Topics will include: Introduction to IMH, Attachment, Brain Development, Temperament, Sensory Integration, Separation, Partnering with Families, The Importance of Play, Attachment Environments, Child Development and Behavior, Screening and Reflective Practice.
- A light lunch will be offered
- Stipends for staff coverage will be available. Limited avaialbility, based upon the number of requests. Please, fill out and return the Application for Stipend Form at the end of the 7 days.

- Certificates of Attendance will be issued following the workshop series, following an brief evaluation
