CT-AIMH 6-day Home Visitor Training Series
CT-AIMH is excited to offer this 6-day Infant Mental Health (IMH) training series specifically for Home Visitors working with infants, toddlers, young children and their families.
The goal of the training series is to help home visitors view the families they are partnering with through an Infant Mental Health (IMH) lens, with a focus on the importance of early relationships.
The sessions will be held on the following days :
August 22, 29 and September 5, 12, 20, and 27, 2019 (8:30am-3:30pm)
- We urge attendance at all six days of training to enjoy the full benefit of the series.
- Coffee, tea and a light breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.
- Certificate of Attendance will be provided.
- There is NO FEE to attend.
After attending this IMH training series, Home visitors will:
- Obtain IMH competencies that can help lead to an IMH Endorsement®*
- Have the opportunity to apply to attend a 2 hour/month, twelve month reflective supervision/consultation group
- Have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to pursue IMH Endorsement®. Scholarships will cover both the application and processing fees.
- Wonder about thier observations of the caregiver/child attachment relationship and how that can help them better support the families they serve
- Understand how brain development and trauma impact children
- Learn how to offer screening, support and advocacy and when to make referrals
- Think more deeply about how culture influences families
- Practice applying the IMH competencies in their work
- Reflect more deeply on their work with families
- Discover how knowing about infant and toddler development is critical in their work
- Understand how temperament and sensory development impact children
- Learn self-care strategies that will help them check in with themselves and regulate their own states
