Reflective Supervision/Consultation Training Series:       

4.5 sessions in New Haven, CT

                      We are excited that you will be joining us for the                                                  4.5-day Reflective Supervision/Consultation Training Series!                    CT-AIMH is offering a series of FOUR full day workshops and ONE half day workshop, that will be held at the Amarante's  at 62 Cove Street in New Haven. 

We strongly urge you to atend all of the workshops in the series in order to benefit from the opportunity to expereince relationship building, expanding your reflective capacity and professional growth.

There is no fee for these workshops.  A certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion of the series. Free breakfast and lunch will be offered.

The dates, times and topics: 

September 9, 9am-4pm- Introduction to Reflective Supervision: Best Practices, Essential Elements, and Collaborative Tasks   Build a strong foundation with Best Practices in Reflective Supervision and viewing and  discussing video vignettes.  

September 17, 9am-4pm-Reflective Supervision: Using the Reflective Interaction Observation Scale (RIOS) as a Framework for Practice  with Christopher Watson, PhD, IMH-E, and Deborah Weatherston, PhD, IMH-E          A national group of infant mental health practitioners and researchers has contributed to the development of the Reflective Interaction Observation Scale (RIOS) to define, operationalize and measure dyadic interactions in reflective supervision. In this training participants will explore the theoretical foundations of reflective supervision and the characteristics that make it a unique and powerful form of professional development. In addition to learning about the structure and components of the RIOS, participants will view and discuss video clips from reflective supervision sessions that demonstrate the Five Essential Elements and five Collaborative Tasks of reflective supervision as identified by the RIOS. 

September 23, 9am-4pm -Putting it into Practice- 1:1 Reflective Supervision     Opportunity to experience 1:1 Supervision and process the experience.

October 1, 9am-4pm -Putting it into Practice- Facilitating Reflective Supervision Groups and Web-based Technology                                      Opportunity to learn strategies to facilitate reflective functioning in group consultation, develop ways to manage emotional intensity and keep focused attention on infants and children, and also expand skills in balancing ‘inquiry and direct advocacy’ in group consultation.
                                                                                                                                   October 7, 9am-1pm -Incorporating Self-Care and Staff Wellbeing into Reflective Practice    Identify ways to enrich your practice, build staff well-being, pay attention to stress and reduce burn-out.

 

 These  workshops will be led by:

Heather Bonitz Moore, MS, AT-BC, LPC, IMH-E®                                                                 Heather has facilitated Reflective Supervision Groups  and training for CT-AIMH, and is the current Endorsement Coordinator for CT-AIMH. Heather Bonitz Moore is a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and an Endorsed Clinical Infant Mental Health Mentor.   

Kim Shepardson Watson, LCSW, IMH-E®                                                                                   Kim has facilitated Reflective Supervision Groups and training for CT-AIMH.  Kim is a clinician in private practice. Kim is a Licensed clinical social worker and an Endorsed Clinical Infant Mental Health Mentor.

    Christopher Watson, PhD, IMH-E®                                                                                    Christopher is an Endorsed Clinical infant Mental Health Mentor, and he is a Research Associate at the Center for Early Education and Development (CEED) in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Deborah Weatherston, PhD, IMH-E®                                                                                       Deborah is the former Executive Director of both the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health and the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health. She is the editor-in-chief of Perspectives in Infant Mental Health. Dr. Weatherston received her Ph.D. in Education, Sociology, and Psychology from Wayne State University. Her post-graduate work includes a Graduate Certificate in Infant Mental Health. She is a licensed social worker and holds an Infant Mental Health Mentor Endorsement.

Tanika Simpson, LCSW, PhD, IMH-E®                                                                                          Tanika has served as former vice-president of the CT-AIMH Board, former CT-AIMH Endorsement Coordinator and offered training on Reflective Supervision for CT-AIMH. Tanika was a clinician with Minding the Baby, an evidence-based program serving young parents and their children at he Yale Child Study Center, and is now faculty at Fairfield University. Tanika is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an Endorsed Infant Mental Health Specialist.

Anne Giordano, MA, IMH-E®                                                                                                        Anne has facilitated Reflective Supervision Groups  and training for CT-AIMH. She has also served as former CT-AIMH Endorsement Coordinator. She has also facilitated programs serving the needs of children experiencing homelessness., and has prior experience overseeing the Birth to 3 and EHS programs at EDCATION CONNECTION.  Anne is an Endorsed Clinical Infant Mental Health Mentor.

  Rebecca Parilla, PhD, IMH-E®                                                                              Rebecca has facilitated Reflective Supervision Groups  and training for CT-AIMH.  She is the National Clinical Director at Child First. Rebecca is an Endorsed Clinical   Infant Mental Health Mentor.
