It's time to get up early & go farm-hopping with us!  

On Saturday, October 10th we will travel the Ohio countryside visiting a handful of farms that supply food for your shares. This is an ALL DAY EVENT (meet at 7:00am, back by 6:00pm) so come ready-- wear some sturdy boots, bring some gloves and layers in case it gets chilly because we will be outdoors in the fresh air all day.

We'll visit a variety of operations-- a dairy, an orchard, livestock, produce-- and have a hands-on activity at each stop (think milking cows, picking apples, shucking corn, collecting eggs.) This is an awesome and unique opportunity to not only see and participate in the day-to-day operation of small, family farms, but also meet the people who grow and make your food. 

After we work up an appetite from all the hands-on choring around the farms (which is all volunteer), we'll tuck into a full Amish lunch at Wholesome Valley Farm in Wilmot, OH.

Go on a short tour of the new facilities and enjoy some coffee, light snacks, and ice cream tasting.

The Bus Leaves

Park behind Mitchell's/Westside Market.

Edward Keim Dairy Farm

Visit the Guernsey cows, practice your skills shucking corn, and milk the cows.  

|| 11:00am ||
Wholesome Valley Farm

Go on a wagon tour of the organic produce fields, visit with the pastured livestock, & collect eggs from the chickens. Afterwards, enjoy a huge traditional Amish lunch and a short beekeeping presentation.

Yellow House Cheese

Learn about the emerging sheep dairy industry, the process of cheese making, and taste a variety of cheeses.

Geig Orchard

This is the last stop on the tour. We’ll press some cider and have 'you-pick' apples.

Drive Back to Cleveland 

We are hoping to arrive back to the Mitchell's/Westside Market Parking lot by 6:00pm, but please allow a little wiggle room if you have a pet sitter or baby sitter in case we run behind. 

Transportation by charter bus and food are included in event cost.

Please bring petty cash to make any purchase at farm shops-- many don't accept credit cards.
