Unholy Secrets is a 3-part training series for pastors and ministry leaders that introduces you to recognizing signs of abuse, understanding its widespread implications and developing prevention, response and worship resources for healing the broken.

Cost of Entire Series: $25 - (Only attending 1 or 2 sessions? Please pay $10 at the door. Self-Pay Breakfast in Dining Hall: 8:30 a.m. - Training Session: 9-10:00 a.m.

  • 1st Training: Can These Bones Live? Shifting Congregational Culture around Abuse - Looking beyond legal reporting mandates and exploring the challenges of transitioning from a mindset of "what we need to do" to "what we are called to do" as a faith community. [FEB 25]
  • 2nd Training: Generation to Generation: Impacts of Abuse - Learning to recognize the signs of trauma and how to respond in healthy ways; also, examining the widespread implications of child sexual abuse and the church's role in prevention and response. [MAR 25]
  • 3rd Training: Come unto Me: Worship Resources for Healing the Broken - Is the issue of child sexual abuse appropriate as a sermon topic or worship theme? This segment explores what the scriptures say about abuse and how to incorporate this topic into a worship context. [APR 22]
