Preretirement Orientation for State of Michigan Employees in the Defined Benefit Pension Plan
If you are within five years from retirement, you may want to attend a Preretirement Orientation (PRO).
A PRO lasts about four hours and is an opportunity for you to learn more about your retirement plan so you can make informed decisions about your future. Topics include:
- Deferred Compensation 401(k) and 457 plans (Voya)
- Investment and Account withdrawal strategies (Voya)
- Calculating the amount of your pension (ORS)
- Choosing a pension payment option (ORS)
- Insurance after retirement (ORS)
- Questions and answers (Voya & ORS)
You may wish to download the Retirement Readiness book to review before the meeting begins.Note: If the facility is closed due to inclement weather or for any other reason, the meeting is canceled.
