Advance ticket purchase is required. Tickets are not sold at the gate on the day of the event. Click on the "BUY TICKETS" link below to purchase. Quantities are limited. Online ticket sales end on Thursday, March 12th, or earlier if this event sells out.

At PAWS we believe that every wild animal forced to live in captivity deserves the chance to live as normal and as dignified a life as possible — with space to roam, quality nutrition, and excellent veterinary care — in an environment that's as natural and as peaceful as possible. The money raised from the sale of tickets to our open houses is used for the care and feeding of the animals living at our three sanctuaries, more rescues, habitat construction, and for the advocacy work we do that drives public policy changes to improve the health and welfare of all captive wild animals.  Thank you for your purchase!

ABOUT OPEN HOUSE EVENTS

ARK 2000 Open House guests board shuttles to visit the bear, big cat and elephant habitats. Once you exit the shuttles you will be walking on grass, dirt, gravel, and some paved surfaces, so please wear comfortable shoes. You may not touch any animal and all guests will be required to stay a safe distance away from the animals. PAWS management, keepers and volunteers will be on hand to tell you about the animals and answer questions. Due to the large size of the ARK 2000 sanctuary and locations of various animal habitats, not every animal featured on our website will be visible during an open house event. However, you will see big cats, bears and elephants!

A gift shop will be available on the day of the event. (We accept cash, checks and major credit cards.)

Event happens rain or shine. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing.

Please use our directions below. Don't believe GPS directions because some instructions will take you right past our gate. If you reach Mountain Oaks School, you've gone too far!

ARK 2000, PAWS' 2,300-acre captive wildlife sanctuary, is located at 1250 Pool Station Road, in San Andreas, California. From Hwy. 49, turn onto Pool Station Road at the north end of town (turn right if you're heading South on Hwy. 49, left if you're heading North). 1/4 mile on the right is the ARK 2000 gate. Show your tickets at the gate. Park your car and wait for shuttle service.

YES, you may bring your cameras and video recorders. No camera drones allowed.

Folding wheelchairs and strollers may be taken on most shuttles. Special arrangements for guests with power scooters and power wheelchairs can be made in advance by calling Kim Gardner at 916-539-5305. 

NO SMOKING ON ANY PAWS PROPERTY, INCLUDING IN OUR PARKING LOTS. We take fire prevention very seriously.

Pets are not allowed on any PAWS property, including leaving them in your car in our parking lots. Please leave your pets at home. 

ARK 2000 is not open to the public on a daily basis.
