Join our team of highly experienced instructors for a week of captivating training in the field of electrical metering.

Our curriculum is dynamic; it is being constanly updated to provide the region's professionals with the most current information.  Due to our long standing partnerships, representatives from utilities, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers will be present to exhibit top-of-the-line equipment and products during the week.  Professionals in attendance will get a chance to learn about opportunities in the metering industry as well as network with contemporaries in the field of metering.

Hands-On Lab PPE Requirements (Updated 6/16/15)

SWEMA takes the safety of our instructors and students seriously!

Instructors and students attending Course I, Course II, and Course III will be required to wear the PPE listed below while participating in the hands-on labs.

Course I : Introduction to Electrical Metering - 32Hrs

This course provides essential basic training to individuals entering the electrical metering field. The emphasis is on single-phase applications. 

PPE Requirements:
Must wear their company requirements for voltages exceeding 50V. For example Hard hat, Safety Glasses, Class 0 rubber gloves with leather protectors, FR Clothing etc.

Course II: Advanced Electrical Metering Technology - 32Hrs

This course provides essential training for experienced meter technicians, emphasizing poly-phase and advanced metering applications. 

PPE Requirements:
Must wear their company requirements for voltages exceeding 50V. For example Hard hat, Safety Glasses, Class 0 rubber gloves with leather protectors, FR Clothing etc.

Course III: Complex Electrical Metering Technology - 32Hrs

This course provides experienced technicians with the latest technological changes and improvements in metering. 

PPE Requirements:
Work Gloves

Course IV: - National Generation & Transmission Metering (NG&T) - 32Hrs

This course provides advanced technician/metering personnel with enhanced skills and knowledge to strengthen their ability to apply the latest technologies and improvements in the field of advanced and high-voltage metering used in the transmission and generation environments.
 
PPE Requirements:
No PPE required

Course V: - A La Carte Class Choice - 32Hrs

This course allows the student to attend any sections of Courses I through IV..

PPE Requirements:
PPE required when participating in any of the labs
