Since being sworn into the city’s top office in January, Memphis Mayor Jim Strick has been diligently working to make Memphis a safer and stronger city, to lead a transparent and trustworthy government, and to have an administration that applies, in his words, “new eyes to solve old problems.” Prior to becoming Mayor, Strickland served 8 years on the Memphis City Council, including as Vice-Chairman and Chairman of that organization; and practiced law at Glanker Brown PLLC and at Kustoff Strickland, PLLC.
He has volunteered with many organizations, such as St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, and been active on many community boards, including chairing Memphis Botanic Garden’s Board of Directors. He is a gold life member of the NAACP.
At our meeting, Mayor Strickland will talk about his plans and vision for Memphis and how those plans could involve the non profit community.
