Please join us for the Seattle Section's monthly meeting at the Best Western Plus Executive Inn this month! There will be a social hour, followed by dinner and a presentation.
Presentation:
Infrastructure Funding Panel Discussion
Infrastructure is the foundation of our economy and essential for our daily lives. Despite infrastructure’s critical role in our communities, it is too often taken for granted. Without proper planning to fund and maintain Washington’s infrastructure, these systems will continue to deteriorate, hurting Washington families and businesses. In 2013, ASCE released the Report Card for Washington's Infrastructure, which found that the State’s infrastructure earned a cumulative GPA of C with grades as low as D+ for facilities like transit and roads.
The ASCE Seattle Section is excited to host an evening with Senator Steve Hobbs and Secretary Lynn Peterson to discuss the State’s infrastructure funding. Hobbs and Peterson will discuss their perspectives on our Infrastructure and funding as well as answer our questions. They will also provide insight on what we can do to help advance sustainable funding legislation for the upcoming session.
