Are you seeking a new direction that merges your art making abilities with a social issue or issues about which you care deeply? If so, this workshop is for you. Experienced educator and internationally exhibiting art activist Todd Drake (www.the equalist.com) will lead you in a safe, supportive opportunity to explore new directions and find a new muse through digital photography. All skill levels and types of artists will benefit from this workshop.
A mix of hands on activities and new information will insure this workshop meets all learning styles. Our Saturday through Tuesday schedule allows participants to miss only two days of weekday commitments such as work or school. Participants will be expected to bring a Digital SLR camera and have their own transportation.
A simple vegetarian lunch will be provided daily.
Todd Drake is an artist in resident and author with the Center for Global Initiatives in Chapel Hill, NC. A 2004-2005 Rockefeller fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Drake has exhibited at the Rhode Island School of Design, NYU, and internationally. In 2011, the US State Department engaged Drake to conduct art workshops in the Kingdoms of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Currenty. his work is on display at the Weatherspoon Art Museum and the Heart Mountain Foundation, a historical center at a WWII Japanese Internment Camp in Wyoming.
