Conference Description

This conference offers the expertise of leaders in the field of aphasia rehabilitation who will be presenting the latest perspectives on aphasia intervention, treatment and research; community aphasia programs, advocacy and living with aphasia through presentations and hands-on demonstrations. The conference offers a unique integration of views from professionals, people living with aphasia and their families.

Conference Objectives

As a result of attending this conference, the participant will:

  • Discuss programs/services/resources available through the National Aphasia Association
  • Learn how to become advocates for persons with aphasia and discover unique ways to educate the public
  • Discuss at least two ways that people with aphasia can participate more fully in life activities
  • Identify two resources that support caregivers of people with aphasia
  • State and describe different aphasia treatment models available to persons with aphasia
  • Explain the newest developments in hardware and software technology oriented toward people with aphasia
  • List various aphasia research opportunities and provide examples of future research questions
