Autism Spectrum Disorder: Foundation Training  for Paraprofessionals and Other Support Staff 

This virtual 2-day training is designed for paraprofessionals, teacher assistants, Head Start providers and other school support staff who serve students with autism and other developmental disabilities. Upon completion participants will have practical information regarding how ASD affects classroom performance. Effective strategies and supports will be provided.

Topics Include:

  • Characteristics of autism
  • The power of teaming
  • Classroom strategies for supporting students with ASD
  • Enhancing students' communication and social interactions
  • Social emotional supports
  • Understanding and de-escalating behavior
  • Parent and self-advocate perspectives

The Zoom link will be emailed to every registrant two days before the training begins.
