Race to the Top Deep Dive 3 Listening Sesion

The Investment Fund for Community-School Partnerships will invest up to $750,000 more in partnerships over the next two years.  Through our investments so far, we have received feedback on ways we can improve the investment fund process from our community partners, Race the Top’s external evaluators and regional partners. In response, this last round of investments is being redesigned as follows:

·         CBOs and other youth and family serving organizations may be lead applicants to the investment fund in partnership with schools/districts.

·         CBOs may contract directly with Puget Sound Educational Service District to receive RTT funds for approved projects.

·         Technical assistance to prospective community-school partner applicants to build intentional partnerships fostering stronger relationship-building between partners.

As a part of this re-design process, we are holding two community listening sessions to gather information and feedback to incorporate in the investment fund process. Areas where we would like feedback include implications and impact of the proposed timeline, process, needs of CBOs and schools/districts, and how best the Puget Sound ESD can support this work. These listening sessions are open to everyone including CBOs, school and district staff, and parents. 

Following the community listening sessions, the investment fund process will be widely announced in mid-September, and multiple information sessions will be offered.
