Seminar

A week-long seminar in Kawaida thought and practice, providing critical analysis, discussion and strategies for addressing major moral and social issues confronting African people and the world, including: the coming U.S. presidential elect6ion; reparations, the goals and struggles; socialism, African and other forms; police violence and community security; food security; human trafficking; healthcare; homelessness and gentrification; quality education, unemployment and poverty; an inclusive immigration; pan-Africanism; peace; environmental care; the centrality of male/female relations; and the interrelated overarching goals of cultural revolution, radical social change and bringing Good in the world.

Philosophical Foundation

The foundation and framework for the seminar is Kawaida philosophy. As defined by its founding theorist, Dr. Maulana Karenga, "Kawaida is an ongoing synthesis of the best of African thought and practice in constant exchange with the world."
