Since February 2016, Southsiders from Garfield Park, University Heights, Carson Heights, South Village, Meridian-Raymond, and St. Roch neighborhoods have been meeting monthly to write the Southside Quality of Life Plan. The initiative is supported by the University of Indianapolis, Fifth Third Bank, Local Initiatives Support Corporation of Indianapolis (Indianapolis LISC), and the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP), and the Southside is the ninth area in Indianapolis to undergo the Quality of Life planning process. By developing the Southside Quality of Life Plan, the community aims to attract public and private investment.
Now in the final stages of developing the plan, the community has identified several key visions including fostering healthy and beautiful commercial corridors with a strong small business sector.
This luncheon will dive deeper into the southside's plan and how it impacts Beech Grove.
September's luncheon is sponsored by Golden Living.
