Unionwear is a 32,000-square-foot cut-and-sew accessories factory in Newark, New Jersey, with over 100 machine operators. SAAGNY Members will see Unionwear's commitment to Lean Manufacturing Techniques enable us to compete with union labor while producing completely custom made hats, bags, such as garment bags and attaches, safety vests, and scrubs. This insight into the manufacturing process has helped our distributors realize that their local manufacturers can make anything they dream up--different styles, unlimited fabrics, decoration locations, all over prints.

Attendees who have a relationship with a domestic supplier must also have at least one client who buys USA-made products. They can leverage that relationship by selling that supplier's products to other clients and selling other USA-made products to that client. Our education seminar, "Leveraging Relationships with Domestic Factories," explains the forces in the economy that have disrupted the era of cheap imports, what kinds of end users are buying USA- made products now that the cost differential has shrunk, and what kinds of products cost almost the same to produce domestically as overseas. This is a perfect time for a promotional products professionals to distinguish themselves as domestic sourcing experts.

All attendees will receive a $300 voucher good for a custom bag prototype--perfect to hold on to until that client needs 500 units of a high-end bag. This will cover the patternmaking and sampling costs for most custom bags.
