MEMBERS' SITE VISIT MEETING AND TOUR
NAATBatt International presents the next in its series of members-only Members Site Visit meetings: a tour of General Motor's Global Battery Systems Laboratory. Please join us for what promises to be an outstanding program on the day before the openning of The Battery Show just down the road in Novi, MI.
As some may remember, NAATBatt held a Members Site Visit Meeting at the GM Global Battery Systems Lab in 2012. Since that time, General Motors has dramatically expanded the lab, nearly tripling its size. The 85,000 square foot facility now boasts 112 pack-level test channels and 120 cell-level test channels. It is the largest battery lab in North America owned and operated by a major auto manufacturer.
GM’s Global Battery Systems Lab has been responsible for testing and validating both battery cells and packs for all of GM’s vehicle electrification systems, including the battery systems for Chevrolet Bolt, Chevrolet Volt, Cadillac ELR, Chevrolet Spark EV and GM’s eAssist light electrification system.
Additional capabilities of the lab include:
The lab will play a critical role in assuring GM’s current generation of electric vehicles maintain their battery leadership position. Teams will validate and test updates to existing chemistries and system designs to make the most of performance and reduce cost.
The Members Site Visit Meeting at GM's Global Battery Systems Lab offers NAATBatt members an unprecidented opportunity to see how a major automotive OEM tests, validates and develops battery systems for current and next-generation electric vehicles. The potential commercial insights will be invaluable. Don't miss this meeting
Of course, NAATBatt Members Site Visit meetings are open to NAATBatt members only. Attendance is free** for members at these events since their cost is paid by annual membership dues. Not yet a member? There is still time to join and attend the meeting. To see and submit a membership application, click here.
Please note: Members must register by September 7, 2017 to attend this meeting. Click the 'Register Now!' button below to save your place.
**SPECIAL NOTE:
** Silver level and public service/government NAATBatt members may send one employee to the meeting, tour and dinner; Gold level members two; and Platinum level members three. Additional attendees from NAATBatt member firms are welcome, but a charge of $65 per additional attendee (NAATBatt's expected cost) will apply. Members will be billed after the event for any addiitonal attendees attending from their organizations.
