MEMBERS' MEETING AND TOUR

NAATBatt is pleased to announce that Battery Innovation Center (BIC) will host the next in our series of Members' Site Visit Meetings at its headquarters in Newberry, Indiana on Thursday, November 12, 2015. BIC operates a 36,000 sq. ft. facility of which 25,000 sq. ft. is dedicated to battery cell and pack development.  BIC provides contract testing and development services for battery manufacturers, electric vehicle developers and public utilities.  BIC has just been named the first MESA interoperability testing center in the world.

The meeting at BIC will be coupled with a tour of the battery testing laboratories at NSA Crane, the third largest U.S. Naval base in the world, located just down the road from BIC. Having the opportunity to tour this facility is an amazing benefit for NAATBatt members! For more than 40 years Crane has provided battery engineering and testing support for programs such as the USAF's Minuteman ICBM program. Through its collaboration with BIC, Crane's testing, development and evaluation facilities are now being made available to private industry.

The tour of BIC and Crane will be an all day event.  NAATBatt will provide bus transportation to both facilities. The NAATBatt bus will depart the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Airport hotel at 9:45 a.m. and return to the hotel at about 9:30 p.m. the same evening.  The Crowne Plaza hotel offers free shuttle service to Indianapolis International Airport. All you have to do is get to hotel. NAATBatt will take care of the rest. Attendance is limited to 55 persons.

As with all NAATBatt Members Meeting events, the BIC-Crane visit will include an important social component. On the return trip from BIC-Crane, the NAATBatt bus will stop  in beautiful Bloomington, Indiana (home of Indiana University) for a networking dinner. NAATBatt has booked a private room at the Uptown Cafe, one of the best and most historic restaurants in Bloomington. There NAATBatt members will share a great meal and build business relationships that will support the development of their individual businesses.

Attend all the trade shows you want.  This is how business really gets done.

As with all NAATBatt Members Site Visit Meetings, the tours, the meetings, the transportation and the meals are FREE**.  All you have to do is get to the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Airport by 9:45 a.m. Thursday morning, November 12.  We will take care of the rest. But like all NAATBatt Members Site Visit Meetings, the program is open to NAATBatt members only. Not yet a member?  Now would be a good time to join.

Important Note:  NSA Crane has reserved the right to deny access to the base or portions of it to non-U.S. citizens. Non-U.S. citizens wishing to visit Crane must register for this event by no later than October 1 to be considered for admission. Partipants not admitted to Crane will wait at BIC during the Crane portion of the program.
