MEMBERS' MEETING AND TOUR

NAATBatt is pleased to announce that XALT Energy will host the next in our series of Members' Site Visit Meetings at its headquarters in Midland, Michigan on Thursday, July 30, 2015.

XALT Energy emerged from the former Dow Kokam and is today one of the leading manufacturers of large format lithium-ion batteries in the United States.  Dow Kokam was the recipient of one of the ARRA battery manufacturing grants in 2009.  Its fully-automated manufacturing facility was one of the first of its type in North America: designed and built from the ground up to ensure safe, efficient manufacturing to the highest standards of quality control. XALT Energy's high-end robotic stacking and vision systems, supported by class 1,000 and class 10,000 clean rooms, enhance quality, reliability and consistency.

XALT Energy manufactures lithium-ion battery systems for the following power applications:  Marine and maritime; commercial transportation, grid and stationary energy storage; industrial motive and automotive transportation.  It is one of only a few companies in the world with the design expertise, engineering capability and manufacturing capacity to develop and produce a high-quality, turn-key battery system — and provide real-time monitoring, field service and support.   

NAATBatt members attending the meeting will have the opportunity to hear from XALT management about the history of the company and its plans for the future.  Attendees will tour XALT Energy's manufacturing  plant, which adjoins its corporate headquarters.  This is a great opportunity for interested members to see what goes on in a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility and to assess its needs and potential.  The opportunity to tour the XALT Energy plant is unique, as it is one of the few manufacturers of large format lithium-ion cells in the United States.

Following the tour, join fellow NAATBatt members at a special members-only reception and dinner (see details below).

Attendees will need to arrange for their own transportation to and from the XALT Energy facility and to and from the networking reception and dinner at The Creek Grill that follows the tour.

NETWORKING DINNER

Following the meeting and tour at XALT Energy, NAATBatt members will adjourn to a networking receptionand dinner at The Creek Grill. The Creek Grill is a well-known local bar and restaurant located about six miles south of the XALT Energy facility in Midland, Michigan. NAATBatt International has reserved the outside patio at The Creek Grill for what should be a highly enjoyable dinner of good Midwestern food, local craft beers, and the company of friends and colleagues on a warm summer evening in Northern Michigan.  It doesn't get much better than that.
