2022 AGA CGFM Review Course Part 2

The AGA Tallahassee Chapter is pleased to offer the CGFM Review Course for Exam 2 beginning Wednesday, October 12th at 8:00 am and ending Friday, October 14th at 5:00 pm.  The course will be held at the Centre of Tallahassee, 2415 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida in the space occupied by the Department of Children and Families in Room C100.

John Hummel is the training instructor for these courses.  Serving as the signing partner on many local, state, and federal government audits has provided John with ample tales of positive, often humorous experiences.  He loves to share these stories.  Although his home office was in Washington, DC, John's field work was performed at sites such as Richmond, Virginia; Bogota, Columbia; and the South Pole.  John was a senior audit partner with a major CPA firm for roughly 40 years, audited local governments for 25 of those years, and was a GFOA reviewer.  He then built a federal audit practice for the next 15 years.  He knows the big picture from testifying before the FASB and Congress to starting AGA's CEAR program.

Upon retirement from the firm, John became the Deputy Inspector General at Montgomery County, MD.  In this role, he learned the true value of ethics.  Like Gene Dodaro, the Comptroller General, he learned personally that some people do good things and others, not so good.  In 2012, John studied at Oxford University, England, and received an MPA degree.

John finds that audience involvement, in reaction to interesting situations, always keeps things lively.  So John keeps it fresh and light.
