Kelly Kohlbeck, Ministry Health Care Kelly is an award-winning, lean six sigma professional with over 20 years of nationally recognized expertise and outcomes within the health care industry utilizing strategic planning and performance excellence methods to improve outcomes and increase revenue generation. Results-driven and proficient in leveraging resources to gain stakeholder buy-in and best-in-class innovative business strategies, he is an enthusiastic master change agent. Participants attending Kelly's session will learn the basic of strategic planning, the value of creating a plan, and the importance of sticking to it!
"What Philanthropy Means to Us: Diverse Donor Voices" Celebrate Diversity Fox Cities “Race and culture matter in how nonprofit organizations shape their fund development efforts …” Emmett D. Carson, in Foreword to Opening Doors – Pathways to Diverse Donors, Council on Foundations (2002). Hear from several involved local citizens of diverse backgrounds who will share perspectives from the philanthropic traditions of their cultures, and have an opportunity to consider how your practices might help or hinder your relationship building with potential donors in these communities.
"Leveraging Social Media for Your Organization: Is the Ice Bucket Challenge for All of Us?"
Lisa Cruz, Red Shoes PR
Lisa Cruz has worked in the public relations industry since 1994 and launched Red Shoes PR in 2008. Lisa provides strategic consulting in a number of areas for clients such as crisis communications, media relations, internal communications, image management and more. During her career she has worked on a variety of communications projects that involve complex legal situations, federal, state and local investigations, high profile events, mergers and acquisitions and HR matters. Participants attending this session will gain insight into how to reach a specific donor audience and how to better communicate the philanthropic story and needs via social media channels.
Roundtable Discussions Leader and Learner Tables Roundtables will have two different Tracks of Focus: Leading and Learning. The Leader Tables will be for seasoned professionals who desire to actively share ideas and experiences with other professionals. The Learner Tables will be for participants who desire to learn more about the specific topic, review practical "take-aways", and ask questions to facilitate learning.
Attendees can choose from a variety of topics presented in both the Leader and Learner roundtable format. Leader Table Topics include: planned giving; capital campaigns; goals, metrics, and benchmarking; hiring and retaining qualified staff; and board development. Learner Table Topics include: CFRE/professional development; crowdsourcing; major gifts (both getting the appointment and making the ask); grants and understanding the Foundation Information Network at Lawrence University; donor centricity; and strategic planning.
Participants will be given the opportunity to attend two roundtable sessions. Sign-ups for the roundtables will take place during registration the morning of the event.
