Negotiations, Overtime, and 2019 HR Legislative Updates - Carson City
Presented by Nevada employment law attorneys, Charlie Cockerill and Joel Locke, with Allison MacKenzie, Ltd., this class will cover the public-sector negotiation process for Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs). This class will also discuss the framework for Nevada public-sector negotiations, how to prepare and strategize, and management rights and mandatory subjects of bargaining. It will further discuss federal and Nevada-specific overtime and provide updates on the 2019 Nevada legislative session.
Presenter Bios
Charlie Cockerill joined Allison MacKenzie in 2014. Charlie graduated from California Western School of Law with a juris doctorate in 1979 and was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1980. Charlie's law practice is limited to representing Nevada public and private employers in their labor relations matters and is considered an expert in the field of public-sector labor relations. In addition to representing many cities, counties, school districts, fire districts, hospitals, and other public-sector employers, Charlie is a Hearing Officer for the State of Nevada, Division of Human Resource Management, for disciplinary and whistleblower appeals, and is a District Court-appointed arbitrator in civil cases. Joel W. Locke joined Allison MacKenzie in 2007. A native Nevadan, Joel graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2000, and then obtained his law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2006. He was admitted to practice law in the State of Nevada in 2006. |
