Join business and community leaders from the international trade and transportation industry at the Port of Miami - Historic Marker Dedication, Luncheon & Awards Ceremony event. This prestigious marker of distinction is awarded to less than ten percent of historic sites in the state of Florida. It is also the first time that a Florida seaport has received such recognition.
The Florida Heritage Landmark project called the “Pioneers Walk” @ PortMiami documents the shared history of Florida’s trade and transportation industry, beginning with Henry Flagler, founder of FEC Railway over 100 years ago. The marker text also highlights modern advances made by business sectors vital to Florida’s economy.
The vision of these early “pioneers” provided the framework for Florida to thrive as a competitive global business center. From the opening of the Miami Tunnel to recognition across the globe as the Cruise Capital of the World and the Cargo Gateway of the Americas, the port’s economic impact is indisputable. It contributes more than $27 billion annually to the South Florida economy and supports direct and indirect employment for more than 207,000 Floridians.
A historic event of this magnitude it not possible without the involvement of our stakeholders. We believe this commemoration will promote positive relationships among our respective organizations as we continue the important work with the public and private sectors to further propel PortMiami and the business community.

DEDICATION CEREMONY
· Please don't miss the unveiling of the historic marker at the Dedication Ceremony. This event will be held at the Pioneers Tribute Site located at the entrance of PortMiami (Port and Biscayne Blvds.)
· Limited Seating is available. This will be a short program scheduled for 30 minutes. Please plan to arrive by 10:45am. The program will start promptly at 11:00am.
· Paid parking is available at the American Airlines Arena or Bayside Marketplace.·

A fantastic buffet-styled feast is being prepared for this illustrious event.
