Finding Center in Conflict:
Finding & Recovering Your Balance in Social Conflict
Life affords us plenty of opportunities to "lose our cool" and re-act in ways that don't solve our problems and often bring us frustration, shame, or guilt instead. What if, in the midst of conflict, you could recover your balance and find your center? To open the door for conflict to turn into into collaboration, disagreement into understanding, and shame and guilt into compassion?
Aikido offers a way to bring this sense of balance and self-possession into our social interactions. Join 4th degree black-belt Aikido sensei Susan Newton in this journey to center and discover how this can transform your relationships.
In this one-day experiential workshop, we will tap into the wisdom of the body and the relationship of mind with body in relation to our interactions with others.
Susan Newton, PhD weaves her background in Transpersonal Psychology, her training in Process-Oriented Psychology, and her passion for Aikido into a novel approach to human relations. Through experiential activities and short integrative discussions, you will discover your patterns of reactivity and learn how to shift those patterns into a more resourceful approach to interpersonal conflict situations.
