Kokua Mau is this year again hosting a palliative care conference: "Overcoming the Challenges of Community-Based Palliative Care".

The 2 half-days, high quality, state of the art live-streamed conference on July 17 and 18, in Honolulu.

Register for Thursday
July 18

The  conference is organized and presented by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) and the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA).

 This is a great chance to earn continuing education credits from national experts without having to leave home.  For the latest (updated) Conference Program please visit the NHPCO website.

2019 Virtual Conference Objectives:

At the completion of this conference, participants will be able to:

  • List two or more key challenges in the development and delivery of community-based palliative care;
  • Identify strategies to enhance the efficient and effective development of community-based palliative care programs/services;
  • Describe two or more practical solutions to clinical challenges encountered in the delivery of community-based palliative care.

As we have done in the past years, we meet at a central location in Honolulu, this year at Chaminade University, for both days to watch the presentations together, starting at 6:30 am HST (12:30 PM EST).

  • Please arrive early, we start at 6:00 am sharp on Wednesday, since this is already the afternoon on the East Coast.
  • Coffee & drinks will be provided by Kokua Mau. Breakfast and snacks will be generously provided by your potluck contribution.
  • We will send details via email to registered participants only about location, room number, parking etc.

There is a discount for Kokua Mau members. If your employer is a member, you qualify for the member discount. Please check our list of Kokua Mau members.

If you are not a member and always wanted to join or renew your membership, you might as well get the member discount by clicking here and becoming a member.

•••  Now to the tricky part: The Registration  •••

The Constant Contact event software requires you to register for each day separately

Please register for each day seperately (for July 17 and then all over AGAIN for July 18) if you want to participate in the entire 2 day conference and get the 2-day discount.

This means: You already registered for wed. now do everything over again once more for Thursday. Sorry, this is the only way we got the software to work for us with a two-day event.

You can register for one or both days, with a discount if you attend both days.

 After July 5:

KM Members both days $90
KM Members Day 2 only     $55

Non-members both days $110
Non-members Day 2 7/18 only   $65

How to register for both days?

After you registered for one day (put in your name etc. and paid via PayPal) please go back to this page and click on Register WED to do the same thing over again. You will see that the only way to accommodate the two day discount is to charge you 50% for each day or $45 for Kokua Mau members and $55 for Non-Kokua Mau members respectively.

This conference is brought with the generous support of Chaminade University and Kokua Mau.

Seating is limited.  Sign up today.

Changed your mind and want to register for the Frist Day Wed 7/17 as well?

Note: This educational activity offers continuing education credit for Nurses and Physicians. A Certificate of Participation is also available for Non-Physician Healthcare Professionals. CE/CME are only available if you watch the sessions live. Please make sure you check out the requirements, since Kokua Mau will not issue the certificates. More
