Kokua Mau Virtual Palliative Care Conference:

Turning Points - Mastering Transitions in Care

Kokua Mau is once again hosting a virtual palliative care conference: "Turning Points - Mastering Transitions in Care". The high quality, state of the art live-stream conference will be for 2 half-days on July 18 and 19, in Honolulu.

The virtual conference is organized and presented by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) and the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA).

This is a great chance to earn continuing education credits from national experts without having to leave home.  For the latest (updated) Conference Program please visit the NHPCO website.

2018 Virtual Conference Objectives:

At the completion of this conference, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key points of transition from patients', families' and professionals' perspectives;
  • Discuss improvements in continuity, communication and provision of care;
  • Describe two or more interdisciplinary strategies to provide high quality hospice and palliative care during key points on transition.

As we have done in the past years, we meet at a central location in Honolulu, this year at Islands Hospice, for both days to watch the presentations together, starting at 6:30 am HST (12:30 PM EST).

  • Please arrive early, we start at 6:30 am sharp, since this is in the afternoon on the East Coast.
  • Coffee, drinks, breakfast and snacks will be generously provided by Islands Hospice.
  • We will send details via email to registered participants only about location, room number, parking etc.

There is a discount for Kokua Mau members. If your employer is a member, you qualify for the member discount. Please check our list of Kokua Mau members.

If you are not a member and always wanted to join or renew your membership, you might as well get the member discount by clicking here and becoming a member.

•••  Now to the tricky part: The Registration  •••

The Constant Contact event software requires you to register for each day separately

Please register for each day seperately (for July 18 and then all over AGAIN for July 19) if you want to participate in the entire 2 day conference and get the 2-day discount.

This means: Register for Wed. and pay via Paypal. Then do everything over again for Thursday. Sorry, this is the only way we got the software to work for us for a two day event.

You can register for one or both days, with a discount if you attend both days.

KM Members both days $40
KM Members Day 1 7/18 only     $25
KM Members Day 2 7/19 only     $25

Non-members both days $65
Non-members Day 1 7/18 only   $40
Non-members Day 2 7/19 only   $40

How to register for both days?

After you registered for one day (put in your name etc. and paid via PayPal) please go back to this page and click on Register THUR to do the same thing over again. You will see that the only way to accommodate the two day discount is to charge you 50% for each day, or $20 for Kokua Mau members and $35.50 for Non-Kokua Mau members respectively.

This conference is brought with the generous support of Akemi and Gary Simon and Kkua Mau.

Seating is limited.  Sign up today.

Note: There is an additional $30 processing fee for continuing education credit for Counselors, Nurses, APRN, Physicians and Social Workers. Available only through NHCPO directly online after the conference. CE/CME are only available if you watch the sessions live. More
