Golden Bead Benefit 2013 

 

The Montessori Children's House of North Barrington community of teachers and parents is pleased to invite you to join us at our annual Golden Bead Benefit.  This year's Benefit will be held at the beautiful setting of the Hawthorn Woods Country Club, and will be an evening of fun, camaraderie and silent auction bidding for the adults of the MCH community. 

The proceeds from this year's benefit will go directly towards supporting the school's goal of achieving the  Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom Certification for our beautiful outdoor spaces at MCH.  This certification process is organized through the Arbor Day Foundation and has been in the works since last school year. The total amount needed for the full implementation is just over $7,000!  The funds raised will go towards sponsoring two of our teaching staff to attend their annual leadership conference this summer, as well as towards items needed for developing the learning areas in our outdoor environment, including outdoor instruments for the musical area, outdoor building blocks for the building area, a beautiful stationary cedar and plexiglass art easel, and so on.  We need your help!

This year our Parent Committee has put together an amazing selection of items for our Silent Auction.  Included in the items available for bidding are:

- A One Week family vacation home for up to 8 in beautiful Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, including use of a 22' boat!

- Spend a weekend (up to two nights) in Chicago, with or without the kids, with a one bedroom suite at the Raffaello Hotel one block off of Michigan Avenue.  A gift certificate for dinner at any Lettuce Entertain You restaurant (even Everest!) is included!

- Beautiful classroom projects made by your children with their teachers

- And much more!

The cost of the event is only $60 per person - about what you would spend for a nice "date night" out - and it includes one alcoholic drink ticket per person.
