LOCATION: Hike Jockey's Ridge State Park at set, Nags Head
TIME: Gather at 6:30 pm on Friday, September 6th (Rain date Saturday, September 7th)
HIKE DESCRIPTION: Hike the tallest living sand dune on the Atlantic coast at sunset. Jockey’s Ridge is the eastern terminus of the MST, and is a stunning location to watch the sunset, with a view arcing from the ocean to Roanoke Sound. The sun sets around 7:30, and we will gather to begin the climb to the highest dune at 6:30. Arrive early to explore the visitor center with museum and 360-foot boardwalk that explains the dune’s ecology. Park Superintendent Joy Greenwood will be joining the hike.

MEETING LOCATION: Meet at the parking lot side of the Visitor Center at Jockey's Ridge State Park, 300 W. Carolista Drive, Nags Head, NC 27959.
