LOCATION: Starting point will be E.B. Jeffress Park & The Cascades, Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 272.5.
TIME: Meet at 10 am on Saturday, September 7th
HIKE DESCRIPTION: Two guided hikes will be led by park rangers. The hiking groups will head in different directions from the parking area at E.B. Jeffress Park and travel about a mile before turning around and returning. The trail is a single track, natural surface trail. This hike is kid-friendly and dog approved as long as dogs are on a leash. There is also the opportunity either during the guided hike or after to see a beautiful waterfall, "The Cascades."

MEETING LOCATION: Meeting location will be E.B. Jeffress Park & The Cascades, Milepost 272.5.

OTHER LOGISTICS: There will be two groups of 20 people, one group will hike North and the other South.
STICK AROUND ASHE COUNTY: There are many other things to see and do in Ashe County. Take time to visit downtown West Jefferson, a happening little mountain town. You can visit Ashe County Cheese Factory, local Fresco paintings, the farmers market or stop and eat lunch at one of many local eateries. If you want to spend some more time in nature, stop by Mount Jefferson State Natural Area or New River State Park.
