Thanks to our event sponsor Great Outdoor Provision Company for providing the band for this fun event!

Wide Open Bluegrass Festival is coming to Raleigh & we're excited about using some twang to support NC's Mountains-to-Sea Trail. Friday, Oct. 3rd Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, Great Outdoor Provision Company and The Mahler Gallery will be hosting a concert/gathering featuring Old Habits bluegrass band, MST Trivia & prizes, Robert Johnson art auction, The Pit BBQ,  Big Boss beer and more.  Purchase your ticket today as space is limited.

"Picking around Raleigh since 2003, Old Habits blends bluegrass, rock and country into music for all people. They sound like Bill Monroe playing John Prine songs with The Band. These guys have developed a classic sound and put on a fun show that will keep you dancing all night."  (ReverbNation)

Listen to their music here.

Test your MST knowledge with our MST Trivia challenge while the band takes a break.  We'll have great prizes donated by Great Outdoor Provision Company and Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Don't miss the opportunity to bid on this specially-commissioned painting by NC artist Robert Johnson.  The theme of the painting is the Mountains to the Sea.  Robert encapsulates so well the diverse and vibrant beauty that is found in North Carolina.  We will have a silent auction for the painting during the event on the 3rd UNLESS someone wishes to purchase this beautiful one-of-a kind original painting prior to the auction for $5,000.  Net proceeds will go to FMST to support the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.  Read more about artist Robert Johnson on page 14 of this magazine.

We couldn't ask for a better location for this fun event!  The owners of The Mahler  Fine Art Gallery have donated this beautiful space located right in the heart of downtown Raleigh's Fayetteville Strret.  The road will be closed and the  atmosphere will be festive.  This renovated building embodies the best of its historic roots along with a modern upscale design perfectly suited to the fine art it displays. The acoustics will be great for the band.

    Enjoy great beer & BBQ

All proceeds support Friends of the  Mountains- to-Sea Trail, a 501c3 non-profit   dedicated to protecting and promoting the MST.  This trail stretches 1,150 miles across NC from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks stopping at many of North Carolina's most beautiful places along the way.  Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail is the growing group of citizens and volunteers who work all over NC building and maintaining trail, encouraging communities to create new sections of trail and helping people hike it.

FMST greatly appreciates the support of all the great folks who are making this event possible: Great Outdoor Provision Company, The Mahler Fine Art Gallery, The Pit BBQ, Big Boss Brewing Company, Carter Worthy, FMST supporter & MST Section Hiker and Megg Rader, FMST supporter and MST Section Hiker.
