Material Health and the Evolution of Sustainability CEU Feb 8, 2017 - FWCC

Course Description:
This CEU is designed to help specifiers of commercial interiors products better understand and identify sustainability criteria for environmentally responsible building products by investigating the four primary aspects of product sustainability across the life cycle: material health, material reutilization, environmental impact, and social responsibility. The course also addresses the role of the specifier as an influencer by exploring the way their product choices help drive the development of new sustainable product design, innovation and environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.

Course Objectives:
  • Understand the key attributes of sustainable building products
  • Learn which tools are available to inform the way you select and specify building products
  • Understand the similarities and differences between health product declarations, environmental product declarations and life cycle assessments
  • Recognize your role as an influencer in driving sustainable product design and innovation
