*** This is a message from the North Dakota Department of Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Section for FEMA Incident Command Staff. ***
Working in hurricane impacted areas for FEMA in an incident command capacity.
• This request is for qualified incident command staff.
• Prerequisites include ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 400, ICS 700, and ICS 800.
• Responders will be expected to cover all expenses and be reimbursed in a timely manner.
• We estimate transportation costs from Bismarck, Minot, Grand Forks, and Fargo to run $800-1,000 roundtrip.
• Do not purchase plane tickets or incur any other expenses until you have been notified of acceptance.
• We anticipate working conditions to be 12-hours shifts for 15 days. (An additional travel day to and from deployment location is added to the time commitment to make the total time 17 days.)
• Responders will become temporary FEMA employees.
• All reimbursements will come directly from FEMA.
• Wage reimbursements for hours worked will at each employee’s current rate.
• Responders will need to either take leave without pay or use paid annual leave.
