Ministering In Crisis - October 2013

In crisis, people just need to make it through
and continue to function.
Whether in personal or mass crisis, it is in crisis that people are most open to spiritual issues.
Learn what to say and what NOT to say in order to:
  • Offer psychological first aid while not accidentally causing further trauma. Deep inner healing can come later once they are stabilized.
  • Be ready to effectively share the simple yet profound hope of Jesus they so desperately need to hear.

This Class Will Train You In CISM-7 - a Spirit-filled approach to Critical Incident Stress Management.

We Will Also Be Covering The Core Components Of:

  • Phases Of Crisis
  • Loss And Grief
  • Offense Against God
  • Theology Of Suffering

It's all taught in the context of self care,
lest our own crises take us out and we can't minister to others.

This training not only equips you to
self-manage and minister in crisis, it will help in every arena of healing.

Mary Leonard, author of Ministering in Crisis, is a chaplain, a trainer for CRI (Crisis Response International), and an instructor for ICISF (International Critical Incident Stress Foundation).  She is gripped with the urgency to equip the Body of Christ to minister in crisis and  travels nationwide to teach.  She is also a massage therapist, and is happily married to Bob, who serves IHOP-KC by managing the shuttles.
