Regional Leadership Training Day April 2016

A day of leadership training for clergy and laity in the Diocese of Bethlehem.

We are offering leadership topics to help you in your church duties, particularly aimed at vestry members, worship leaders, and spirituality leadership.

Workshop Descriptions:

Best Practices for Parish Finance: Charlie Barebo

Hands-on experience of completing the annual Parochial Report, setting up and managing a simple parish accounting system, overview of the key responsibilities of parish treasurers.

Benedictine Spirituality for Leadership: Laura Howell

Benedictine spirituality, an important part of our Anglican roots, teaches that we are all called to be leaders–in our churches, workplaces, families, even leaders of our own lives.  Explore some of the leadership tools and wisdom this way offers us.

Worship Leadership Training: Anne Kitch

A Worship Leader is a lay person who regularly leads public worship, such as Morning Prayer, in a congregation under the direction of a member of the clergy (Canon III.4.4). This is a canonically licenced ministry in the Episcopal Church. This training session is the necessary pre-requisite in order to be licensed by the Bishop.

Leadership for Wardens and Vestry: Rick Cluett

Best practices for parish leaders examining roles, responsibilities, and realities. A look at the canons, models, strategies and resources to assist elected leaders of parishes.

What’s in Your Sacred Bundle? Make Your Church a Church for The Community: Diocesan Stewardship Committee

How do our congregations grow and become healthy communities in the face of daunting challenges inside and outside the Episcopal Church today? Practical strategies for adapting existing structures and ideas in order to enrich the faith community and strengthen connections to the neighboring world. Highly recommended that a parish send a team of at least two persons
