Are You in Control of Your Inventory?

 Workshop on Inventory Management

As rewarding as owning and managing your own business can be, its challenges and frustrations can sometimes be daunting, particularly in today’s highly competitive environment. The Lakewood Urban Enterprise Zone’s (UEZ) program is pleased to announce a new workshop designed to assist retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers and warehouse operators. The seminar will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference Room C of the Lakewood Municipal Building, 231 Third Street, Lakewood.

To most organizations, inventory is one of the more visible and tangible aspects of doing business. Beginning with the management of suppliers delivering raw materials to goods in various levels of completion in the production process and management and delivery of finished goods in the distributions channel, each type represents money tied up until the inventory becomes purchased products. In today’s competitive market, regardless if it’s local or global, managers need to understand their product and the method in which it is moved in, through and out of the business.

Jeff Ayd of ID Solutions will be our guest speaker.  Mr. Ayd has a long history in retail distribution - rising to Administrator for Macy’s NY where he designed and implemented many systems for the identification, handling and tracking of merchandise and equipment.  In 1984, Mr. Ayd went on to be an independent consultant and designed the “Datatagger Ticket Encoding System”, the first affordable, portable electronic labeling system for which he was issued a U.S. patent.

Mr. Ayd will discuss the application of inventory control methods for handling of merchandise and equipment using real world examples.  “My satisfaction come from helping my customers achieve success without burdening them with unnecessary expense or complexity,” stated Mr. Ayd.

The UEZ encourages all our local businesses to attend this informative seminar.  There is no charge to attend.  Join us on Wednesday, November 12th to learn about inventory management.
