Attention Accountants & CPA's:

Learn from the Expert How to Grow Your Business

As rewarding as owning and managing your own accounting firm can be, its challenges and frustrations can sometimes be daunting, particularly in today’s highly competitive environment. The Lakewood Urban Enterprise Zone’s (UEZ) program is pleased to announce a new seminar targeted at accountants and CPA’s that will teach you how to grow your business based on your own existing customer base. The seminar will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at  10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference Room C of the Lakewood Municipal Building, 231 Third Street, Lakewood.

Melvin Factor, Principal and Founder of M.F. Factor, Inc. will be our guest speaker.  Mr. Factor established his firm in 1977 and brings a wealth of information and industry knowledge to you.  “I have learned over the past forty years through trial and error, as well as through surrounding myself with experienced professionals, how to develop a viable company with unlimited potential” said Mr. Factor.  The seminar will include information and discussion on selecting mentors and advisors, developing a business personality, drawing economic value from your existing business and how to keep evolving your business to meet your clients needs.

Mel Factor has a BBA in Accounting, CPA from Pace University, and an MBA in Taxation from the City University of New York.  In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor of Accounting and Taxes at Cornell University, City University of New York and State University of New Jersey. Mr. Factor began his accounting career at Cooper’s and Lybrand and also has extensive experience in investments and insurance.

The UEZ encourages all our local accountants and CPA’s to attend this informative seminar.  There is no charge to attend.  Are you an account or CPA thinking about opening your own firm?  Join us on Wednesday, August 20th to learn about choosing the right business structure for your firm and what types of mentors and advisors are best for you.

About the UEZ:  The Urban Enterprise Zone program was designed to foster economic growth to revitalize and stimulate designated urban communities.  The program encourages businesses to create private-sector jobs though public and private investment.
